Albuterol
-Bronchodilator
-Ages 1-65 with diff breathing due to asthma
-1 unit does administered via nebulizer at 6LPM, 2nd dose may be given
-Side effects: Rapid heart rate, headache, agitation
-Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to albuterol, respiratory failure
-Can assist with their own inhaler
EPI- PEN/CHECK and inject
-Beta Agent: Dilates bronchioles
-Used for Anaphylactic reactions
-Dosage: Adults 3.0mg or Pediatric 1.5mg (if under 65lbs)
Oral Glucose
-Gel
-Used for AMS with low blood sugar (blood glucose under 60)
-Patient must be conscious and able to swallow
Aspirin
-Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug
-Used for cardiac patients (chest pain)
-324mg (4x81mg chewable tablets)
-Contraindications: Aspirin allergy, GI bleed
Narcan
-Opioid antagonist
-Used for AMS with suspected Narcotic overdose (will not work on other types of drugs)
-Dosage: 2mg (1mg each nostril)
Nitroglycerin
-Can assist patient with taking their own nitro
-Minimum systolic BP 120
-Up to 3 doses or maximum as prescribed, whichever is less
