What is the pericardium?
Fibroserous sac surrounding heart and its great vessels -> consists of 2 layers (fibrous and serous)
What are the 2 parts of the pericardium serous membrane?
Parietal - lines fibrous. Visceral - adheres heart
What is the circulatory system like - the 2 pumps?
What are the branches of the aortic arch?
Braciocephalic trunk (RHS) -> subclavian and common carotid artery (on RHS from BCT but LHS continues and comes off slowly)
What are the valves of the heart?
RAV= tricuspid. LAV = mitral valve
What are the structures present on the RHS of the heart?
What are the structures present on the LHS of the heart?
What are the names of the coronary arteries?
What are the names of the coronary veins?
How does the electrical impulse conduct from the SAN to the rest of the heart?
What are the veins that drain into the SVC?
2 brachiocephalic trunk with subclavian veins and internal jugular vein
How does the conducting system work in the RHS of the heart?
How does the conducting system work in the LHS of the heart?
What do the chordae tendinae do?
Help keep the valves closed when they need to be closed
What are the valves in the LV called and what do they have that is different from the RHS valves?
Semilunar valves and on the right and left valves, there is a small opening for the R/L coronary artery to receive blood -> most O2-rich blood
