3 forms of devolution in the uk
Scotland. The Scottish Parliament was established in 1999 following the Scotland Act 1998. Scotland has extensive powers over areas like education, health, transport, justice, and local government. Scrapped tuition fees in 2008
Wales - The Senedd (Welsh Parliament), formerly the Welsh Assembly, was created in 1999 under the Government of Wales Act 1998. 2011 referendum that allowed it to make laws in areas like health, education, and local government without needing approval from Westminster. The Wales Act 2017 granted Wales greater control over areas like income tax rates and devolved some legal powers.
Northern Ireland. The Northern Ireland Assembly was established under the Good Friday Agreement of 1998. Dissolved in 2002 due to unionist and republican tensions, but reopened successfully in 2007
