What is an A Shot charge placement?

A

Designed to attack the fuse and primary booster to initiate the main fill. It is the preferred method. Avoid wasting explosive on electrical and mechanical parts of the device.

A

Targeting the main fill. Not desired on illumination rounds. Be carful to not attack thicker parts of the case such as the bourrelet or base.

A
  • Pri 1 - Immediate and serious risk to life (General public access)
  • Pri 2 - Risk to life exists, public access, close to residential
  • Pri 3 - No direct threat, public access or future development
  • Pri 4 - No direct threat to life, no public access

What lines and points are used to ensure a systematic EOC is conducted?

A
  • Reference Point - An easy to locate feature to aid in locating the starting point (Datum point)
  • Datum Point - The accurately surveyed and marked point to take all other references from.
  • Datum Line - Predetermined bearing through the datum point.
  • Start Points - Points along the datum line
  • Start lines - Lines perpendicular from the datum line from the start points
  • Intermediate Lines - Perpendicular to the start lines to box areas.

  • Shallow search depth is to 500mm. 2m search lanes
  • Deep search is 500mm to 6m. 1m search lanes
