What does MHRA stand for

- controls the sale and supply of medicines
- POMs
- In pharmacy without prescription
- Can be sold in General stores

What is Prescription Only Medicines Order 1997 Schedule 5 for

Registered paramedics can administer and prescribe medicines on there own initiative for the immediate, necessary treatment of the sick or injured without prescription

- Covers the class of drug
- Don't need to be NHS service to obtain or administer POMs

- Under the MODA 1971 drugs are placed into 3 classes A,B,C
- This relates to the harm that they cause society when they are misused

- separate cd register at each location
- 1cd register for each drug
- Chronological sequence of drugs
- record each quantity of drug imported or exported
