What is the fan connected to and how?
The 3 stage low pressure turbine
By an inside shaft.
How is the compressor driven?
By the 2 stage high pressure spool
How is the accessory gear box driven?
By a tower shaft driven by the 2 stage high pressure spool.
What does ground idle ensure for the airplane?
Avoid flame out, overheat, and inability to accelerate
Adequate bleed flow and temperature for ECS
Adequate generator speed
What does flight idle ensure?
Ground idle +
Anti icing
Go around in 8 seconds
Where is bleed air taken from? Why?
9th low pressure
