Flashcards in Environmental Control Sysrem Deck (22):
Where is pack air distributed?
1. Pack 1 goes to cockpit and last 4 rows
2. Pack 2 goes to the cabin
How do you energize the aft cargo heater
Automatically by switching the Aft Cargo switch to COND AIR
How do the packs change the temperature so as to effect the output temperature?
1. ACSC tells Temp Cntrl Valve to actuate
2. Ram air valve controls how much cooling is accomplished in the pre cooler
What's the difference between passenger oxygen and crew oxygen?
1. Crew oxygen = 1 oxygen cylinder
2. Cabin = chemical oxygen concentrator
How are the packs cooled?
Ram air is used for pack cooling and ventilation
How is the temperature controlled in the aft cargo compartment
In the AIR position - recirculated air and in COND AIR the heater is enabled
How are the outflow valves opened and closed?
How much oxygen is supplied above 30,000 ft?
The mask supplies pure oxygen regardless of the N/100% switch position
Where are the portable oxygen bottles located?
Near each flight attendant station
Where is the portable water fire extinguisher located
On the aft bulkhead
When must the recirc. Fan switch be off?
Temp is warmer than 30* C so that the fans don't burn up
How is the aft cargo heated?
When should COND AIR be selected?
After takeoff when ambient temps are below 15* C
When does the CAbin pressure controller(CPC) activate?
3 minutes after WOW is sensed or if PRESS CONT is pressed
How many outflow valves and how many electric motors on them?
What does the pressurization ground valve do?
Dumps pressurized air on the ground. It also dumps CRT and avionics ventilation overboard
Messages associated with the pressurization system are?
- CABIN ALT caution at 8500
- CABIN AZlT warning at 10000
When do the oxygen masks drop?
At 14,000 +/-300
How many pressurization safety valves are there?
What are the three phases of the inhibit functions?
1. Takeoff initial phase
2. Takeoff final phase
3. Landing phase
Selecting the MAN ALT up does what?
Opens the outflow valves
