2 Groups, Participants believed they were involved in a lab study, participants were in a waiting room and heard arguments then saw a man with a pen and greasy hands walk out of room. Other participants also heard arguments but heard glass breaking and a man walk out with a knife with blood on it.
What were the findings Johnson&Scott (1976) Greasy pen study
Participants who witnessed man with pen were mostly able to identify him. Whereas participants who saw the man with the knife found it harder to recall the man. Only 33% could identify the man
