A firm expectation and assurance in Jesus Christ and his promises. We get hope through faith in Jesus Christ, learning and studying the gospel, and through the holy ghost. Hope is built upon faith. Without faith, there is no hope. Without faith in Christ, there can be no hope for eternal life and the fulfillment of God’s promises.

Metaphors to describe our relationship with others in building Zion: body of Christ: every individual contributes their unique abilities to the collective body to function as the working Zion, building a temple: every person is like a stone or brick, essential to structures completion. We rely on each other to build Zion.

The lord did not provide a solution but gave the brother of Jared the agency to make a plan and ask the lord to assist. The brother of Jared crafted small transparent stones and asked the lord to touch them to give them light. This showed his exercise of agency.
