What is force?
In Physics, force is defined as: The push or pull on an object with mass causes it to change its velocity. Force is an external agent capable of changing a body’s state of rest or motion. It has a magnitude and a direction.
What is friction?
friction, force that resists the sliding or rolling of one solid object over another. Frictional forces, such as the traction needed to walk without slipping, may be beneficial, but they also present a great measure of opposition to motion.
What is gravity?
if we are to be honest, we do not know what gravity “is” in any fundamental way - we only know how it behaves. Gravity is a force of attraction that exists between any two masses, any two bodies, any two particles. Gravity is not just the attraction between objects and the Earth.
What is Weight vs. Mass?
Mass and weight may seem like the same thing, but in fact these two measurements are very different. Mass is the total amount of matter, or “stuff,” in an object. Weight is the force of gravity on an object. Mass always stays the same, but weight can change depending on how much gravity is acting upon an object.
What is Newtons 1s law?
The idea that objects only change their velocity due to a force is encapsulated in Newton’s first law. Newton’s first law: An object at rest remains at rest, or if in motion, remains in motion at a constant velocity unless acted on by a net external force.
What is Newtons 2nd law?
Newton’s second law states that the acceleration of an object is directly related to the net force and inversely related to its mass. Acceleration of an object depends on two things, force and mass. This shows that the bowling experiences a much greater force. But because of the big mass, it resists acceleration more.
What is Newtons 3rd law?
Newton’s third law simply states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. So, if object A acts a force upon object B, then object B will exert an opposite yet equal force upon object A.
