Where is collagen formed on the long bone?
Epiphyseal side.
Where is cartilage ossified?
Diapyseal side.
What does the Reserve zone contain and what do the cells do?
Small chondrocytes within the matrix which secure the ephiyseal plate to osseous tissue of epiphysis.
What is the proliferative zone?
Where new chondrocytes are made to replace old ones
What is the zone of maturation and hypertrophy?
Has much older chondrocytes and mature cells sit closer to end of diaphyseal plate.
What is the zone of the calcified matrix?
Zone of dead calcified chondrocytes. Capillaries and osteoblasts from diaphysis penetrate zone and osteoblasts secrete bone tissue on remaining calcified cartilage

What is the zone of ossification?
where bone grows in length when ossified tissue is added to diaphysis.
CARTILAGE REPLACED BY BONE TISSUE
What is appositional growth?
When bones widen; this is when the osteoclasts reabsorb and redeposit bone stuff.
