How do labeling and the s.f.p affect achievement?

A

Teachers tend to respond more positively to girls as they see them as hard-working
Gender stereotypes will influence the teacher to labelling
Girls are labeled as hardworking and capable
Boys (white) - seen as less able and disruptive
Boys are seen as the class clown
This results in a self-fulfilling prophecy
Boys have a negative reputation that sticks so they come low in self-esteem and don’t see the point of school.
