What are the privileges of the ATPL?
Same privileges at a PPL/CPL, act as PIC of an aircraft engaged with a co-pilot and is engaged on an air transport operation or for hire and reward.
What is Part 121?
Rules related to ATO or CTO for aircraft with a seating capacity of more than 30 seats or payload of more than 3410kg.
What are the ATPL currency requirements?
Medical requirements, BFR requirements and Recent flight experience (In the past 90 days 3 take off and landings OR demonstrated competency to examiner or take off and landing to instructor) - 1 of the landings may be autoland. (Note - No day/night recency requirements)
Company requalification requirements?
14 - 35 days: CBT
36 - 45 days: CBT, recency sim OR 2 sectors training captain
46 - 90 days: CBT, recency sim AND 2 sectors training captain.
90 - 6 months: Recency sim, EBT, 2 sectors training captain.
What are the duties of the PIC?
Responsible for safe operation of aircraft, safety of passengers, crew and cargo. Have the final authority and to maintain discipline by all persons on board. Responsible for compliance with the CAA rules. Further respobsibilities as per the RTG 1.
Who is required to look after the passengers if you divert to an unattended airfield?
PIC
Can the authority to restrain passengers be delegated to other flight crew?
Yes
Can we deviate from the CAA rules?
Yes, the rules can be breached provided:
- The emergency is danger to life/property
- Breach only goes far as needed
- No other way
- The breach is less dangerous than following the rules.

What are the IFR currency requirements?
Completed 12 month check,
In the preceeding 90 days:
- 3 instruments approaches (1 may be in sim)
- 3 hours instrument time (1 hour must be instrument flight time)
In preceeding 90 days completed approach with similiar navigation system.
Class 1/2 medical.
Documents to be carried?
- AFM
- Tech log
- Air worthiness
- W & B Data
- Radio station equipment approval levels.
