What is the SA node?
The natural pacemaker in the right atrium
What is the AV node?
Knot of nervous tissue at the junction of the right atrium and ventricle
What are Purkinje fibers?
Nervous tissue fibers in the muscle of the ventricles
Where is the Bundle of His located?
At the top of the septum; also called the AV bundle
What do the bundle branches do?
Two branches coming off of the AV bundle that go down through the septum

Heart attack
What is atherosclerosis?
Build up of lipids in the arteries
What is the function of a pacemaker?
Set the pace (rhythm) of the heart

Pressure in the arteries when the ventricles are contracting; top number
What is diastolic pressure?
Pressure in the arteries when the ventricles are relaxing; bottom number
Define hypertension.
High blood pressure over 140/90
Define hypotension.
Low blood pressure below 120/80
