She was the Goddaughter of Q. Victoria, and in 1911 she refused to sign the census. She famously said: “No vote, no census, as women don’t count, they refuse to be counted.”

What was the “Cat and Mouse” act?
1913 - This act allowed the release of prisoners who were at the risk of death due to hunger strikes. Once the convict was healthy again, they were recovered and recalled into prison where the process would repeat.
