Q

Describe the allergic and inflammatory reaction

  1. Allergic response initiation and response
  2. Inflammatory response components

A
  1. Allergens initiate allergic response
  2. Mast cells rupture and degranulate, releasing large quantities of histamine
  3. Mediators initiate the inflammatory response - prostaglandins, histamine, leukotrienes, cytokines, eosinophil chemotactic factor
