* Mild to moderate
* Severe
Mild to moderate
* BSL 11-27.8
* KET 0.6-3
Severe hyperglycaemia
* BSL > 27.8
* KET >3
What are the care pathways for mild-mod hyperglycaemia/ketosis?
Exclude other causes that may require emergency department care
* ACS
* Infection/sepsis
VVED referral

- Cardiac monitoring and ECG
- MICA > IVT
What are the clinical features of DKA?
PANDA KK
- Profound thirst
- Abdominal pain
- Nausea/vomiting
- Dehydration
- ACS
- Kussmaul breathing/tachypnoea
- Ketotic breath
What are the clinical features of HHS?
- ACS
- Dehydration
