Immune Synapse Flashcards
(8 cards)
What is SMAC (Supra-molecular activation cluster)
Focuses T cells and APCs into a concentrated area receptors involved acting as sealing rings to prevent escape of cytolytic agents
What is the different rings in the immune synapse
Central SMAC, Peripheral SMAC, Distal SMAC, Cytotoxic SMAC
What is found on the Central SMAC?
TDR/CD3 microclusters and costimulatory molecules (e.g CD28)
What is found on the Peripheral SMAC?
LFA-1. ICAM-1
What activates LFA-1?
TCR signals
What is found on the Distal SMAC?
CD45
What is found on the Cytotoxic SMAC?
CTL and targets
What does Cytotoxic SMAC allow?
Enables targeted secretion of cytotoxic granules (containing granzymes and perforin)
