Q

Describe the DCR process

A
  1. Detection-The performer picks up relevant information from the environment (display) using their senses (sight, hearing, touch, etc.) and selective attention to filter out irrelevant stimuli.
  2. Comparison-The performer compares the information they have detected with previous experiences stored in their long-term memory.

3.Recognition- The performer recognises the situation and identifies an appropriate response based on their comparison with past experiences.

Q

What are the roles of the translatory mechanisms

A

-Helps to convert information so that decisions can be made

-information from the senses are filtered, then adapted into an image that can be sent to the memory for comparison

-uses past experiences so that information received can be linked and sent to the memory system

-actions are stored in the memory in the form of motor programmes and translatory mechanisms uses coded information to retrieve the appropriate motor programme.
