What is the Prey Drive?
It is the innate urge to chase, catch, kill, carry, and guard prey
What is the Defense Drive?
It is the desire to avoid pain or injury to oneself by overt aggressive behavior
What is the Dominance Drive?
The desire for upward mobility within the hierarchy of the pack

Explain the Fighting Drive
It is the urge to measure physical strength and nerves against opposing forces
What is the Hunting Drive?
The desire to satisfy hunger
Explain the Retrieving Drive
Often referred to as ball drive. It’s a form of prey drive with the behavior patterns of chasing, catching, and carrying.
Explain what the Olfactory Drive is
It is the desire that causes the dog to use airborne or ground scent/odor to attain his goal or final objective
What is the Territorial Drive?
A dogs tendency to become mentally attach to a particular location and its willingness to defend that territory
Explain what the Social Drive is
Social drive is the desire to interact with one’s species

A social phenomenon in which an individual consciously engages in danger in the interest of another
