What are the four indicators that provide an early warning system for our dogs?
Food intake, water intake, urine and defecation frequency
Feeding Procedures
- Monitor.
- Scoop and dispose feces.
- Feed the dog (wait 20 minutes)
Kennel Maintenance Procedures
- Remove the dog.
- Remove dishes.
- Monitor each dog’s defecation, food consumption, and water consumption.
- Scoop all feces, placed them in a plastic bag, and dispose of them (if needed)
- Rinse the kennel with water.
- Apply soap.
- Scrub and rinse.
- Dry.
- Clean and replace dishes.
What should never be available for each dog?
Stagnant water
Washing the water pail and refilling it with fresh water will be done how often?
Minimum once daily
How often should kennels and crates thoroughly be cleaned?
At least once daily
Can a flat or remote collar be left on a dog inside an enclosure?
Yes, as long as the dog is not left unattended for an extended period, such as overnight.
