Q

Eukaryotes characteristics

A
  • make up plants, animals, fungi and Protista
  • has membrane bound complex organelles
  • genetic Material is membrane bound and linear and divided into chromosomes
  • reproduce sexually and asexually
  • protein synthesis in protoplasm
  • ribosome are 60S and 40S
  • movement via cilia or flagellum made of cytoskeleton
  • cell wall made of cellulose

Q

Prokaryotes characteristics

A
  • make up bacteria ( peptidoglycan cell wall ) and archaebacteria
  • smaller than eukaryotes
  • no membrane bound organelles
  • genetic material not nucleated and single king continuous circular piece of DNA found in dense region in cytoplasm called nucleoid
  • protein synthesis in cytoplasm
  • movement via flagellum made of flagellin
  • reproduces asexually
  • has capsule ( protection ) and cell wall ( prevent excess uptake or water )
