What is Unionism?
A political stance favouring the continued unity of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland as one sovereign state, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Define Republic.
A state where supreme power is held by the people and elected representatives, not the monarch.
What is Irish Republicanism?
The political movement for independence of Ireland.

The Catholic island of Ireland was colonised in the north by Protestant Scottish settlers.
