Q

Different types of hypoxia

A
  • hypoxic: poor 02 inspiration levels or poor Pa02
  • anaemic: poor transportation of 02
  • cytotoxic: good inspiration of 02, poor ability to absorb at tissue level
  • stagnant; abnormal delivery of 02 e.g. occlusion of vessel

Q

Consequences of ischaemia

A

-reduced 02 supply
-increased anaerobic respiration
-cell death
affects tissues differently depending on structure:
-dysfunction
-pain
-physical damage
