Why is the mizvot important for understanding the relationship betweens humans and the Almighty?

A
  • A way to connect and communicate with God
  • Gods way of reaching out to human beings and helping them to live in the correct way
  • By obeying the mitzvoth, humans are reaching back to God and becoming the people of God.
  • This is the meaning of the Mosaic covenant. God has agreed to be the Jews’ God and look after them if they keep his mitzvoth.

  • If a Jew understands the mitzvoth, they will keep them properly
  • The aim to help people behave in the best way possible
  • Each mitzvah has something to teach
