Q

GIF characteristics

A

Lossless vs lossy Lossy compression: GIF File size reduction due to reduced colour table (256 colours or shades of grey) Compression is irreversible Additional le size reduction by using as few colours as necessary

18
Q

Resolution for web and interactive media?

19
Q

Resolution for print media

A

1.5 to 2x the line screen print

20
Q

Types of compression

A

Lossless: Redundancy reduction most efficient way of encoding colour infocreduces pixels by
formula is reversible
Ex:GIF
Lossy: JPEG-Irrelevancy reduction removes
Ex: JPEG
