Lecture 6 - ELBOW & RADIOULNAR JOINT Flashcards

(17 cards)

1
Q

What are the ligaments of the elbow? And their role?

A

Radial collateral ligament = lateral support & rarely injured
Ulnar collateral ligament = medial support to prevent from abducting when stressed
Annular ligament = provides a sling effect around radial head for stability

Q

What are the elbow flexors? elbow extensors? radioulnar pronators? radioulnar supinators?

A

Elbow flexors = Bicep brachii, brachialis, brachioradialis, weak assistance from pronator teres
Elbow extensors = Tricep brachii, weak assistance from anconeous
Radioulnar pronators = Pronator teres, pronator quadratus, brachioradialus
Radioulnar supinators = Bicep brachii, supinator, brachioradialis
