what is a place
a location with a meaning

a place is a space with a meaning attached to it

what is an insider perspective
when you know a place well, and feel like a local
what is an outsider perspective
when youve never visited a place, feel like a alien/tourist
what is an insider
someone who feels safe, secure and at home in a place
-they understand the social norms and feel included
-play an active social and economic role
what is an outsider
someone who feels homesick,alienated or excluded from society in a specific place- may not be able to take on an active role
what is a far/distant place
somewhere that people believe to be physically distant, or different
what is a near place
somewhere people believe is physically close, spacially or easy access. May be viewed as similar
how is globalisation effecting how we see far/distant places
not as strange/different
what is a experience place
a place someone has spent time within, that person has the experience of being there
what is a media place
places a person has only seen/ read about through media e.g. films, social media
