What is cardiovascular disease?
condition affecting the heart or blood vessels
What are the 4 cardiovascular disease?
- Atherosclerosis
- Coronary heart disease
- Heart attack
- Stroke
What is atherosclerosis?
The build-up of plague inside arteries, leading to narrowing and reduced blood flow
What is coronart heart disease?
reduction in blood flow and oxygen limits the cardiac muscle’s ability to respire, an angina or heart attack may occur
What is heart attack?
Blocking the oxygen supply to an area of cardiac muscle causing death of cells and permanent damage
What is stroke?
Damage to the brain caused by a blockage or bleeding in the brain’s blood vessel
What is respiratory disease?
Condition that affects the lungs and airways, making it difficult for air-breathing animals to exchange gas
What are the 2 respiratory diseases?
- Asthma
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
What is asthma?
a chronic long term condition that affects the airways in the lungs
