A
Allow researches to see social change overtime, allow them to track change in social mobility, allow to see movement between socio-economic class, also look at how childhood affects future

Disadvantages of longitudinal studies
A
They are very expensive because of the amount of time, Hawthorne effect may happen due to them knowing they are being studied
