What do the testes do?
Secrete testosterone

Where mature sperm congregates
What is spermatogenesis?
Process where sperm undergo meiosis to become a spermatoid
What is the acrosome of a sperm?
Contains the enzymes to break through eggs
What enzyme is used to penetrate the egg?
Hyalouronidase
What are the three parts of a sperm cell?
Flagellum, midpiece, head
What is in the midpiece of a sperm?
There are mitochondria to supply the sperm cell with energy.
What does the flagellum do?
Helps the sperm cell move easier
How long can sperm live for in the vagina?
5 days
What does the seminal vesicle do?
Provides a liquid medium for sperm to survive in the vagina. It provides nutrients for the sperm.
What does the urethra do?
Carry pee/sperm out of the human body
What does the copper’s gland do?
Produce pre-ejaculate. Produces fluids to help neutralize the acidic urine in the urethra.
What does the prostate do?
Produces a fluid that mixes sperm to make semen.
What does testosterone do?
Growth for home mass, fat, muscle mass, strength. Helps produce red blood cells and sperm. Regulates sex drive.
