The first empresario. The capital was San Felipe de Austin.
How were Spanish and Anglo methods of settlement different?
The Anglo came for cheap land, while the Spanish came to colonize.
Describe the Old Three Hundred?
Catholic, Spanish or Mexican citizens, must be good, moral characters.

Declare Mexico free, Mexicans have equal rights, Catholism would be the official religion.

It was Mexico’s Constitution. It let Texas have slaves.

U.S gets the Sabine River as new boundary to Texas, Florida. Spain gets U.S to promise not to touch Texas.

He wanted freedom for Texas. Got help from Americans. Made the Republican Army of the North.

The Bloodiest Battle in Texas History. The Spanish won

Where the U.S bought Louisiana. The size of the U.S doubled. U.S shares a border with Texas.
Who was Bernardo de Galvez and what did he do?
Helped the Americans. He was a Spanish military governor.
What area did Stephen F. Austin choose for his colony? Why?
Between the Colorado and Brazos River. The soil was rich, had access to water, and warm climate

He was the Father of the Mexican Independence. He was the one who called for independence.

It a speech to call for independence for Mexico. It would start the Mexican Revolution.

It was the province Texas was in after Mexico got their independence.
