A

NEAR is an application that allows users the ability to distribute small gifts over wifi from the title they are playing to anyone within the radius of their physical location. (Sort of like Geo-Caching.)

A

The PS3 Debug units are specifically used by GFPQA testers. They are enabled with more advanced testing, title level navigation, and in-game functionality. They DO NOT play Blu-ray movies or support browsers.

What is different about the PS3 DevTool unit compared to the standard consumer PS3?

A

The PS3 DevTool Unit is a more robust console designed to enable software development. Sometimes used for early builds, but NOT commonly used by GTAs. If assigned your L/QAT will provide you with specific instructions for use and testing purposes.

  • The AVCAP records video of console use (menu and gameplay).
  • It is used as a research tool to help analyse previous actions.
  • Allows GTAs to attach videos and images to BUG reports.
