Muscle Properties

A
  1. Contractibility - the ability to shorten when innervated
  2. Extensibility - the ability to be stretched beyond their normal resting length
  3. Elasticity - the ability to rebound to their resting length after being stretched
  4. Tonicity - a state of hardness of the muscle. When a muscle is exercised, more muscle fibers become active, and the muscle becomes firmer.
