Q

What is being parochialism or culture blind?

A

Have to be careful os stereotypes; such as the introduction of performance related pay, will increase productivity

  • Barfuss has introduced performance related pay elements; but Chatroux is known for high quality, so perhaps this is a subculture going in the wrong direction

Q

What are Hofstede’s 6 dimensions?

A

The two most relevant;

  • Uncertainty avoidance: French companies tend to store very highly on this; which means they feel threatened by unusual or ambiguous situations
  • Individualism: France is a high individualistic culture, this means they stress more over the need of the individual compared to the group; which is demonstrated by social behaviour

Q

How are the multi-cultural team(s) performing at Chatroux?

A

The multi-cultural team at Chatroux seem to be performing much worse on a relationship basis, however there is seemingly no data to suggest that the company itself is struggling - productivity levels have remained stable and there are no apparent other issues, as Mr. Guiard would have notice - however because he is a weak leader this my by why - or Sacha could have another motive?
