A

It was originally established as a naval dockyard town due to its location on the sheltered, natural deep-water harbour known as the Plymouth Sound. By the eighteenth century, it has become one of the fastest growing towns in the country and enjoyed great prosperity

What caused deprivation?

A

Naval came in and used community centre to store weaponry. They built walls which separated the community and created violence. When the naval left due to lack of funding the walls were still there.
