Why was NHS created and why was there support

A

Created because:
- correlation between poor health and housing

  • NIA (1911) was limited, it didn’t cover women/children/elderly
  • Economic depression between wars
  • People couldn’t afford to see doctors so used family remidies and low-quality medicines

MAIN:

  • people thought they deserved free healthcare after many years of suffering and sacrifices during the war
