Engine Start (Cold Engine)

A
  1. Primer - 3 Strokes and Lock
  2. Mixture - RICH
  3. Throttle - Cycle 1 stroke and 1/4” open
  4. Brakes - HOLD
  5. Prop Area - CLEAR
  6. Ignition - START (Attempt 8 sec. MAX)

When Engine Starts

  1. Throttle - 1000RPM
  2. Oil pressure - CHECK GREEN (In 15 Secs.)
  3. Mixture - LEAN FOR RPM RISE
  4. Throttle - 1000RPM
  5. Flaps - UP

Engine Start (Warm Engine)

  1. Mixture - RICH
  2. Throttle - 1/4” OPEN
  3. Brakes - HOLD
  4. Prop Area - CLEAR
  5. Ignition - START (Attempt 8 sec. MAX)

When Engine Starts

  1. Throttle - 1000RPM
  2. Oil pressure - CHECK GREEN (In 15 Secs.)
  3. Mixture - LEAN FOR RPM RISE
  4. Throttle - 1000RPM
  5. Flaps - UP

A

Wait 30 Seconds
1. Throttle - CYCLE 2 STROKES AND CLOSE
2. Ignition - START (Attempt 8 sec. MAX)
(Do not attempt start by cycling throttle. Use primer only)

When Engine Starts

  1. Throttle - 1000RPM
  2. Oil pressure - CHECK GREEN (In 15 Secs.)
  3. Mixture - LEAN FOR RPM RISE
  4. Throttle - 1000RPM
  5. Flaps - UP

    (Drop should not exceed 150 RPM on either magneto or a difference of 50 RPM between the two)
  4. Engine Instruments and Ammeter - CHECK
  5. Suction Gauge - CHECK
  6. Carb Heat - ON/CHECK FOR RPM DROP
  7. Throttle - IDLE/ 600-800 RPM
  8. Carb heat - OFF
  9. Throttle - 1000 RPM
