Q

Cardinal numbers?

A

uno changes to un before a masculine noun
Cien refers to 100 but for 100+ use ciento followed by another number
Beyond this adding cientos to the number : doscientos, trescientos
Exceptions: quinientos, setecientos, novecientos
Numbers ending in - cientos/as are adjectives and should agree with the noun they describe
trescientos ensayos, setecientas casas
The word y goes between the tens and units but not after the hundred words : doscientos y ocho
Before thousand and hundreds it’s not necessary to add a or one beforehand, cien, mil
