Q

Summarise the osmosis required practical

A
  • As the concentration of sugar solution increasesm the mass change of the potato will decrease, from a positive change to a negative change
  • This is because when there is no sugar in the solution , there is a higher concentration os water in the solution than the potato and so water will diffuse into the protato via osmosis
  • As the concentration of sugar solution decreases, the concentration gradient will also decrease, meaning that after a certain point, water will start to diffuse out of the potato via osmosis causing the mass of the potato to decrease
