- paper production ceased in 2005 at paper mill garnets mill which was redeveloped into a 194 home housing development support by £2 million funding from LEP. Hydroelectric dam means it was carbon neutral.
- otley mills were based in wool industry and shut in 2014 with 74 job losses but became wharf bank business centre so overall change from secondary to tertiary

- 97% of people are white so cultural diversity has remained limited only decreased 1% in 10 years
- large decrease in Christian population from 62% to 51% with 47% not religious so conflict? 5 churches

- 50% of otley has seen a rank increase so has become more deprived by around 4%
- social segregation ass Weston housing estate is in lowest decile and Cambridge estate is the least deprived decile
- new bridge in 2025 caused mass conflict and traffic
