A

1) Conductor checks if any passengers need to alight the train (announcements, train patrols)

2) Driver slows down and beeps horn on approach

3) If no passengers are waiting to board, driver gives RTS signal - buzz buzz

4) If no passengers are waiting to alight, conductor gives RTS signal - buzz buzz - train continues

5) If passengers are alighting, conductor doesn’t repeat back the RTS signal and the driver will then stop at the station

A

1) Come to understanding with driver on how you will communicate you have performed your duties and the driver can couple/uncouple
2) Make an announcement to passengers on board that the train doors are about to close as the train is about to couple. Ask them to sit or hold onto the handrail as they will feel a jolt
3) Warn customers on the platform to stand clear as units will be joined/separated
4) Close doors following usual procedure
5) Communicate with driver
6) Ensure DKS is off
7) Once finished, release doors with usual procedure
8) Direct customers to the correct unit if applicable

Could cause a fire - stop the train!

You must inform the driver

Remain by the panel for the remainder of the journey If it is at the front of the train, get permission to dispatch from the front

You would get a 2-2 on the buzzer from the driver. You would need permission from signaller to set back You must not have gone further than 400m past the station

Bell buzzers failure, what are your actions?
Stop the train - one on the buzzer, or passcom. Do NOT open local door (train could leave without you!) Liaise with driver. Retry 3 times. Try a different DCP if available. Report defective buzzer to maintenance control and follow any instructions. Reach clear understanding with driver how you will safely dispatch the train (Green flag or light)

Can you refuse a train with faulty cab heating?
This is down to driver discretion

Report to driver & maintenance control Transfer passengers out of the affected vehicle if in hours or darkness or long tunnels are on the route and then lock out of use
