7
Q

What are the PACK switch Positions? What do they do?

A

OFF- Pack valve is CLOSED and no air is flowing through the air conditioning PACK
AUTO- With both PACKS operating, each PACK regulates to LOW flow. With only one PACK operating, the other PACK automatically regulates to HIGH flow to maintain adequate pressurization. Automatic regulation to HIGH flow also takes place with both engine BLEED air switches OFF and the APU BLEED air switch is ON.
HIGH- Both PACKS regulate to HIGH flow

16
Q

When are the RAM air inlet doors move to the full open position?

A

On the ground or inflight with the flaps extended

17
Q

What illuminates when the RAM doors are full open?

A

RAM DOOR FULL OPEN annunciator

18
Q

Where does conditioned air to the flight deck come from normally?

A

Left PACK

19
Q

When will the RECIRC fan NOT operate in the AUTO position?

A

When either or BOTH PACK switches are selected to HIGH in flight.

20
Q

What displays the temperature of the air in the passenger cabin?

A

The AIR TEMP source selector on the air conditioning panel.

21
Q

What does the PASS CABIN position display?

A

The temperature of the air in the passenger compartment

22
Q

With the temperature selector knobs to the AUTO NORMAL position, what is the temperature range that will be regulated?

A

65 to 85

23
Q

What does the SUPPLY DUCT selector display?

A

The temperature of the air in the main cabin distribution duct.

24
Q

What does rotating the temp selector to COOL do?

A

The CABIN TEMPERATURE CONTROLLER will drive the mix valve to a colder position forcing more hot air through the pack to be cooled.

25
Q

What does rotating the temp selector to WARM do?

A

Closes the cold air mix and open the hot air mix allowing less conditioned cool air to mix with the hot bleed air.

26
Q

What does the TEMP SELECT knob in MANUAL DO?

A

Bypasses the AUTO TEMP Controller and the temp selector directly controls the temperature of the mix valves

27
Q

What happens when DUCT OVERHEAT is illuminated?

A

The air mix valves automatically drive to the full cold position.

28
Q

What happens when the TRIP RESET switch is selected after a DUCT OVERHEAT light?

A

Drive the air mix back to the position based on the temperature selected for that zone.

29
Q

What does the equipment cooling system consist of?

A
  • Supply duct
  • Exhaust duct
  • 2 fans
30
Q

What do the fans in the supply duct do in the equipment compartment?

A

Pushes air over the displays and equipment racks in the E & E compartment

31
Q

What do the fans in the exhaust duct do in the equipment compartment?

A

Draws warm air out and discharges it overboard through an overboard exhaust valve

32
Q

Where is the air warm exhaust air ducted in flight when the overboard exhaust valve is closed?

A

Around the forward cargo compartment

33
Q

What happens when there is not sufficient air flow for equipment cooling?

A

The OFF light on the EQUIPMENT COOLING panel and the MASTER CAUTION light will illuminate

34
Q

What are the 2 functions of the overboard exhaust valve?

A
  • Controlling the quantity of equipment cooling exhaust air.

- Smoke removal.

35
Q

How are the cargo compartments heated?

A

Warm air recirculated from the passenger cabin

36
Q

Where does air from the aft cargo compartment go?

A

Gets dumped overboard through the outflow valve
