What are the S&S of TB?
A
- haemoptysis (bloody cough)
- weight loss
- night sweats

What do we need to teach pt’s with TB?
A
- hand washing
- med routine
- 2 weeks post treatment they are non-infx, but they need negative cultures before they are declared non-infx
- monitor sputum
- cover mouth cough sneeze
- need to wear surgical mask if they leave the hospital room

- sudden or gradual

- most common dyspnea
- hypoxemia
- impending doom
- tachypnea
- cough
- chest pain

A
- pulmonary infarction (death of tissue)
- pulmonary HTN
- pleural effusion

- D-dimer (not specific)
- spiral CT/CTA (angiogram)
- V/Q scan alternate method if contrast is too hard on kidneys
