Q

What are the instrument gas compressor trips?

A
  • Low Oil Pressure (15 psig, 30 sec TD)
  • Hi Oil Temp (180F)
  • Hi Discharge Temp (250F b/f intclr or 300F b/f aftclr)
  • Hi Suction Temp (160F air temp in Drywell)
  • Hi Cooling Water Temp (125 exiting compressor)
  • Low Water Pressure (44 psig(a) 45 psig(b), 30 sec TD)
  • High Discharge Pressure (117# rec / 127# comp outlet)

Q

Can the PCIG compressors be restored after a LOCA has occurred? if so, what is the process?

A

via manual override on 10C650 (MCR). – DW suctions closed, then RB opened, to prevent safety lockout!

Q

Can you place a running PCIG compressor in auto?

A

If the compressor is started using the manual button, it must be STOPPED, then placed in auto. If it is not stopped, the compressor will continue to run until it trips on overpressure

Q

What should be done to the PCIG system if drywell temperature gets to high during a LOP? and what is the setpoint?

A

During a LOP, if Drywewll temperatures
are > 135F, the PCIG suction should be
re-aligned to RB air. First CLOSE DW
suctions, then open RB suction.

Q

If one PCIG compressor is secured, can that sides 1E and non-1E headers still be supplied if the cross-tie valves are shut?

A

Yes because 1E, Non 1-E and backup to instrument air for the Rx building to Torus Vacuum Breakers are connected downstream of HV-5124A and B
