Q

Describe the Logic for PCIS.

A

There are 4 “two-out-of-two” logic channels. Each one of two valves in each penetration is closed by one channel initation. Any 3 logic initiations close all valves.

21
Q

What happens to the PCIS signals upon a loss of 125 VDC?

A

Loss of the 125 VDC buses will prevent the CS logic from initiating and sending the applicable signals to the PCIS system for Isolations/Initiations.

22
Q

What does failure of a 481 inverter cause with respect to CS and PCIS logic?

A

Failure of the UPS power to a specififed CS logic cabinet trip relays will prevent that particular division of CS trip relays from initiating isolation functions from CS to the PCIS system

23
Q

What does failure of a 482 inverter cause with respect to CS and PCIS logic?

A

Failure of the UPS power to a specific logic cabinet will prevent that particular division of the PCIS from initiating isolation functions

24
Q

What are the logic coincidence for initiation?

A
  • Level 1 2/2
  • Level 2 2/2
  • Hi Rad 2/3

If 3 logics trip, then one valve per each penetration shuts.

25
Q

How can you reset PCIS?

A
  • If only a PCIS needs to be reset, only PCIS needs to get reset.
  • If a system that share PCIS and NS4 needs resetting, reset both.
  • A level 2 would require a NS4 and PCIS reset. Level 1 only needs Core spray.
26
Q

What are power supplies associated with PCIS?

A
  • A-DD481 inverters power instrumentation.
  • A-DD482 inverters powers bailey logic.
  • Failure of inverter will inhibit the associated channel.
  • A-DD417 feed CS cabinets.
27
Q

Which SACS pumps starts during LOCA?

A
  • A/B on Level 2
  • All pumps on Level 1
28
Q

What happens to SSW during LOCA?

A
  • All pumps start on LOCA 2/1.
  • SSW to RACS is isolated.
29
Q

When does FRVS start?

A

On LOCA level 2.

30
Q

How many channels does PCIS have?

A

A-D channels.
Energized to operate
1. Arm & depress of a channel will close the valves for PCIS systems.

31
Q

What are the systems does PCIS isolate?

A

E. Isolates the following systems:
Torus Water Cleanup
Containment Atm.
Control PCIG
CRD to Recirc Seals
Drywell Equipment Drains
Drywell Chill Water
Drywell Purge
H2/02 Analyzer
H2 Recombiner
PCIG Tip Purge
RACS
Rx Coolant Leak Detection

32
Q

What is the AC power supply to the CS logic?

A

The Class 1E instrumentation AC power supply inverters provide single phase, 120VAC to the CS logic cabinets as shown.

Inverter | Logic Cabinet
1AD481 | 10C617
1BD481 | 10C618
1CD481 | 10C641
1DD481 | 10C640

33
Q

What are the inverter power supplies to the trip relays?

A

1(A-D)D482 inverters power (A-D)C652 trip relays.

34
Q

What happens when inverter is placed in Bypass to Alternate?

A

Places it on the 40X bus directly.

35
Q

What happens to a Loss of 482 inverter?

A

Failure of the UPS power to a specific logic cabinet will prevent that particular division of the PCIS from initiating isolation functions – PCIS is a bailey function

36
Q

What happens on a loss of 481 inverter?

A

Failure of the UPS power to a specified CS logic cabinet trip relays will prevent that particular division of CS trip relays from initiating isolation functions from CS to the PCIS system.
