Reactor Manual Control System - 1.0 Flashcards

1
Q

What occurs as a result of the Bypassed Rod Interlock?

A
  1. Not tested and cannot be moved by the RMCS system.
  2. When a specific transponder is placed in BYPASS at the RDCC, it will stop both the SCAN and Self test functions of the analyzer card.

Q

What causes an Activity Controls Disagree Interlock and what actions/indications does it actuate?

A

Causes:
1. Thinks that <1 or >1 rod is selected.*

Actions:
2. 120VAC removed from BJM
3. Inhibits motion on all rods. (No “Rod Block” lights illuminate.)
4. RMCS INOP OHA.
5. Alarm light located on RMCS.
*Illuminates whenever outputs from both activity control (transmitter) cards are not identical. If transmitter cards are not identical, the Rod Select P.B. will only have 1 of the 2 lights illuminated.

Q

When does the RDCC Activity Control Card inhibit rod motion?

A

Prevents rod motion if:
- RWM program not ready
- RWM computer failure
- RWM requests a rod block
- Most other rod block signals (look in system lesson plan)
