What is the power supply for the RMs and what happens if that power supply is removed?
The RB/RF rad detectors are powered via the 481 inverters and will send a trip signal when power is removed from the detector or it’s control switch is moved from operate.
what must be accounted for in the RM system during HWCI operations?
Due to increased N-16 in the main
steam lines during HWCI system operation, MSL radiation monitor setpoints are adjusted upward
prior to HWCI system startup.
What must be done if offgas rad monitor flow is >75scfm?
They should be considered INOPERABLE. A correction factor needs to be added in to make them operable again. (From AB.BOP-0006).
What indications would you see in the G. Reactor Building Area Radiation Monitors (ARMs) following a DBA LOCA?
Fail upscale due to detector saturation as a result of the expected shine from the high radiation levels inside primary containment. During post accident scenarios, RB ARMs can remain upscale for about 30 days.
