  1. Social cognitive idea that we enjoy simplicity because it uses less cognitive resources and more of our experiential brain. Thus we are cognitive misers.
  2. Meaning & alleviates Anxiety: Structure gives us order and puts less stress on our rational mind. Easier to distinguish meaning. Can get anxiety from no structure

A

the extent to which people need structure in their lives. High PNS people are rigid, need thing stop be structured and organized. Low PNS people enjoy spontaneity.
Measured as a type but collected as a quantitative continuous by categorized into types at both ends of the distribution.

High PNS cling to structure for MS and rate abstract art negatively. under the condition there is uinformation about an abstract piece that provides structure, high PNS will like it more. Low PNS will embrace uncertanty and actually want more of it.

1/ When feelings are fused with shame we put mor energy into cognition regarding our own characteristics

3. When opportunities for reparation are blocked there is no way to apologize so you feel bad.
