what happens in females during puberty, in terms of hormones?
an increase in GnRH release leads to an increase in FSH/LH release which leads to an increase in estrogen and progesterone

how does breast development occur during puberty?
estrong signals: milk ducts to divide, fat deposition to increase mass and give shape to breast, areola enlarges

what are the mental changes due to hormones during puberty?
Physical maturation occurs before mental/emotional maturation

Humans take much longer to mature than other animals. Mainly because we take a long time to learn “life skills”

Puberty’s physiological effects are meant to prepare males and females (physically) for reproduction and (mentally) for the responsibilities of adulthood.
